The major functions of the excretory system are to get rid of waste and intake the drugs that you take and cleanse your body if intaken too much.

ü Describe how the structure of a nephron provides an advantage on its function.
The nephron is responsible for the formation of the urine. The sturcture allows time for things to exchange and change things before they exit the body. If proteins, calcium, or water have to go back in the body, they can without hesitation and done quickly while the they're still moving through the long nephron.

Explain the major parts-
lungs - get rid of CO2 and get oxygen that is passed throughout the body to keep things functioning and used for energy
kidneys - remove waste from blood, gets rid of excess water salts hormones and drugs, they also produce red blood cells
liver - purifies blood, makes sugar, and processes medication you take
urinary bladder - stores and releases urine
ureters - connect the kidney and the bladder, urine flows through these filling the bladder
urethra - tubes where the urine leaves the body

Dialysis is used to replace kidney functions when a kidney must be removed for medical reasons, and the person is not a good candidate for a kidney transplant, or if kidney function it temporarily lost.

The Excretory System might be involved in the driver's injury because he his peeing blood. For the driver to be peeing blood, his urinary system must be damaged in some way. This could mean that the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and or urethra could be damaged in some way. The damage would allow blood into the urinary system, so that the drivers urine is bloody while peeing.
